CMIdirect's major effort in the past few years has been to expand the direct response area by reengineering delivery systems for individual products to embrace a more technological, modern approach. Initially, concentrated on term life as the core product. By the use of a combination of direct marketing techniques and customer segmentation, CMI improved the production process, which often took 6-8 weeks for delivery of a policy, to an average of 14 working days. CMI plans to expand marketing of term life to include disability, long term care, annuities, and in the next phase, homeowners and automobile insurance. The main thrust of CMI's expansion plans is to embrace the Internet and its marketing potential. CMI is proud that it was the first company to deliver a term life policy across the internet and that the only "live person" that the insured spoke to was the medical examiner who came to his home. |
